It is a robust and user friendly solution consisting of a Base Station loaded with KERNEX – Fleet Management Software and a Vehicle Mounted Data Terminal (VMDT) comprising of a Hand Held Unit and Hands Free Unit. The Base station software communicates with the Vehicle Mounted Terminals using TCP/ IP over GPRS network. The base station is located at the Fleet Maintenance Center and is loaded with Fleet Management software is capable of tracking the vehicles at real time.

The KERNEX-VMDT Vehicle Mounted Data Terminal is a robust unit with a high quality LCD display and flexible mounting options. The design is unique and includes advanced hardware and software that allows data communication at high speed resulting in shorter transmission times. VMDT consists of a GPS and GPRS modem to transmit and receive data. It is also equipped with an industrial grade CPU for computational purposes. The VMDT receives information that can be viewed by a mobile operator. The product has been designed with the end user in mind because it is simple to operate with all keys well-marked and easy to identity.
